Somewhere between your first contract
and this hitch, your body changed on you.

Dear Fellow Oil Patch Worker,

Nobody asked your permission. It didn't happen in one night. A couple pounds landed on your gut after one hitch. A little more after the next. Your shoulders shrank. Your energy started tapping out by hour eight of a twelve-hour shift, and you told yourself it was just the schedule catching up to you.

Then you caught your own reflection, locker-room mirror, or your truck window at 4 a.m.

And you didn't recognize the guy staring back.

So you downloaded the calorie app. You swore off carbs. You told yourself this rotation would be different. It lasted two days. Then a brutal twelve-hour shift, or a night on the deck at minus-thirty, flattened the whole plan, and you were back in the buffet line loading up on the heavy stuff just to survive the hitch.

You are not lazy. You are not weak.
You've been running a soft, suburban diet system on a life it was never built to survive.

Here's what's actually happening to you, physiologically: your circadian rhythm never fully sets when you're flipping from days to nights mid-hitch. Disrupted circadian rhythm is tied to higher rates of weight gain and worse blood sugar control, even when the calories going in are identical to a guy on a normal schedule.

Run on four broken hours of sleep and your body pumps out more ghrelin, the hormone that makes you feel hungry, and less leptin, the one that tells you you're full. That's not a lack of discipline at hour ten of a night shift when you're eyeballing the cookie you stashed in your bag. That's your own hormones lying to you.

It Gets Worse

Every six-pack influencer on your phone screen wants you to believe the opposite, that you just don't want it bad enough, that you lack willpower. That's a lie built to sell you a $40 supplement stack, and it makes you feel like garbage while it does it.

Here's the real cost of staying stuck: another hitch spent propping up your energy with two or three Red Bulls just to make it to shift change. Another homecoming where you're too wrecked to be the partner or parent you want to be, sleeping your entire break away instead of living it. Another year where the number on the scale climbs while the mobility, energy, and self-respect you used to have keeps shrinking.

You work one of the hardest, most unforgiving jobs on the planet, in conditions that would break most of the guys selling you that fitness advice. You have more willpower in a single hitch than most people use in a year. And you're still losing a fight against your own body, because nobody ever built a system for your life. They built it for a guy who sleeps eight hours in his own bed and cooks organic dinners on a 9-to-5 clock.

That system was never going to work for you. It's not slightly off. It's completely, uselessly, disqualifyingly wrong for the life you actually live.

Every hitch you wait is another hitch spent
building a body that can't keep up with the paycheck it's earning.

Introducing
The Hitch Fit System

The Site & Home Fat Loss System for the folks working on Alberta's Oil Patch.

I've worked Nexen's Long Lake Project, Albian Sands, Suncor's Base Plant at Steepbank, and I'm coming up on a decade at Fort Hills. I know the smell of bitumen off the froth tanks at 3 a.m. I know what a day shift that flips into a night shift with zero warning does to a man. And yes, I know the exact taste of camp Salisbury steak, because I've eaten more of it than I care to admit.

I built this system because I watched my own midsection grow the same way yours has, and I got sick of pretending Red Bull and willpower were a plan. This isn't a diet. It's a logistics system, because that's exactly what your life on rotation demands.

Everything you're wondering.

Do I need access to a gym? +
No. The camp workout is bodyweight-only, done in your dorm room, and takes 10 minutes. Home-side training can use a gym if you have one, but the plan works fully without any equipment.
I work 12-hour shifts. When am I supposed to train? +
The camp workout is designed to fit inside the 15-minute window between shift-end and dinner, or right after dinner. Home-side, we assume you're tired and design the plan around it. No 5am gym sessions required.
What if my camp food is really bad? +
Chapter 2 covers the four camp-food scenarios, from decent to actually awful, and gives you a plate strategy for each. If your kitchen only serves fried and salad, there's a specific section for that.
Does this work for night shift? +
Yes. Chapter 5 is the night shift protocol, eating window, sleep sequence, light exposure, and caffeine timing. Also covers turnaround days when your schedule flips.
I've tried keto, carnivore, IF, why is this different? +
Those are diets. This is a system built around a constraint set (camp food, rotational schedule, shift work) that no diet was designed for. You don't pick a macronutrient camp; you pick a plate that fits your rotation.
Is this a course? Do I have to watch videos? +
No videos. No modules. No login. It's a PDF you download once, read on your phone during coffee break, and reference for the next 30 days.
What if I get sent home mid-rotation? +
The 30-day plan accounts for turnaround shifts and unplanned days off. It's built around the rotation cycle, not the calendar, so it adapts to whatever hitch you're actually working.

The excuses stop
on this page.

P.S. You've already done the hard part. You've shown up for hitch after hitch, in conditions that would break most men. All this system asks is that you point that same discipline at your plate for 90 days. Turn the page. Let's get to work.

P.P.S. Every day you keep running the old broken plan is a day closer to becoming the guy who gave up on himself instead of the guy who fixed it.
